Market Beef
⚠️ BEEF CHECK IN INFORMATION 2024 ⚠️
This year we will be holding our virtual beef weigh-in. Please complete the google form below to check in your cattle for the 2025 fair. In addition, we will have an optional in-person check in to participate in the rate-of-gain contest. If you are interested in entering the contest, bring your cattle to the fair on Sat. April 6 between 8 am & 12 pm. Top 2 beef & dairy exhibitors will be recognized and awarded.
Exhibitors can check in up to 3 cattle (for virtual check in and rate-of-gain contest). Families can tag cattle for multiple siblings.
The form requires the RFID tag number and pictures of your animal.
Please be sure to follow all directions on the form.
A separate form should be completed for EACH animal you would like to check in.
CHECK IN DEADLINE THURSDAY FEBRUARY 15th at 5:00pm.

Market Sheep

All market lambs will need to be pre-registered using the google form below & submitting the required pictures (see details below):

The google form must be completed and pictures need to be emailed to [email protected] no later than JUNE 1st, 2024.
All market lambs must be pre-registered by this date. NO EXCEPTIONS. This form goes directly to the superintendents and not the fair office. All questions and inquiries must be sent to the above email.
You must fill out the google form for each lamb (ex: you are bringing two market lambs, so fill out the form twice, once for each lamb). You’ll provide each of the following, not limited to: pictures of the full face; up close, clear pictures of all of the ear tags (both sides of the scrapie tag and any other identifying tags) in the ear of the sheep; two profile pictures of the entire animal (head to tail, both sides).
Each exhibitor may pre-register up to 4 animals (maximum of 2 market lambs can be shown at the fair per exhibitor). Families may pre-register animals as family projects with all children’s names listed on the google form.
Animals that have not been pre-registered will not be eligible to show.

Fryers - under 70 days, check in day
Roasters - under 180 days, check in day
Fancy Pens - 10-12 weeks, check in day
Forms and Set Up
*Cage Count and Bred & Owned Class Verification MUST be turned into the Fair Office by June 15th.
*Wednesday July 31, 2024 - cage cleaning 6:30pm
*Saturday August 3, 2024 - Rabbits, Cavies & Poultry check in (Small Animal Arena next to Rabbit & Poultry barn) 10am - 2pm
Market Goats
Goats must be owned and in exhibitors possession by May 1st.
Online tagging/registration (not exhibitor entry) for Market Goats will happen between May 10-May 15. Information will be published via Facebook, 4-H Office and FFA advisors.
Youth exhibitors who plan to enter a market goat at the Shiawassee County Fair must have the
goat in their possession by May 1, 2025.
Mandatory tagging will take place on Saturday May 10, 2025
from 9 am to 12 pm
at the
Shiawassee County Fairground Small Animal Arena.
Bring your owner statement of transfer or
premise letter to verify scrapie tag which must be in goat’s ear. All goat’s must be tagged to
show at the fair. Goats will also be weighed and exhibitors provided samples of buyers’ letters.

Swine
Swine must be in the exhibitor's possession by MAY 1, 2024. Check In will be by VIRTUAL only More info to come.

Hair samples are no longer required.
